In today’s world of computer inter-connectivity designing, setting up LAN systems and maintenance has become a vital set of skills that are in high demand. The Labtech LAN Trainer is developed to give the students practical skill as well as theoretical in setting up simple network system to the complex one. It is a modular system and can start at a fairly low level and work up to more complex LAN & WAN systems. This trainer fits in providing essential practical experiments for Labtech’s overall program in meeting “ Comptia Network+ Certification and Network Technology Practices” as well as “Network+” requirements.
The Experiment manual teaches and guides the students in the basic theory of networking as well as exploring the capabilities of each major type of hardware and connection device. Students will be able to set up systems starting from the most basic home network and then move on to small work-group setups (peer-to-peer). From there students can progress to moderate sized client-server LAN networks that are typical of small and medium sized businesses. Five types of standards are featured such as 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1000 Mbps (Gigabyte), Fiber Optic as well as wireless. Several types of cabling are used and several types of fiber optics are optionally provided.
